Navy League Accepting Nominations for Industry Awards

Navy League Corporate Membership provides the opportunity to recognize leaders of industry and outstanding achievements in science and technology that strengthen our nation’s defense.

We invite your organization to submit nominations for both the Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Award and the Albert A. Michelson Award.

Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Award 

The Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Award honors a leader of industry who has made a major contribution to our nation’s maritime strength and/or enhanced our national security. In selecting the Nimitz Award recipient, the committee will select the person that best exemplifies the leadership, statesmanship and dedication to our country that was exhibited by the award’s namesake, Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz.

Selection Process and Award Presentation:

Nomination packages will be reviewed and evaluated by a distinguished committee appointed by the National President of the Navy League. The committee will have the challenge of selecting the “best of the best” from among the field of nominated civilian leaders. The winner will be honored in front of an audience of senior military leaders and their industry peers at Sea-Air-Space 2026 at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD. The winner is expected to accept the award in person.

Albert A. Michelson Award

The Albert A. Michelson Award honors a civilian scientist, technical innovator or group or organization that has demonstrated scientific or technical achievement that has resulted in a significant improvement in the strength of our maritime forces or to the enhancement of our industrial-technology base. In selecting the Michelson Award recipient, the committee will consider singular contributions, such as a single invention and technological innovation, or to long-term scientific contributions by the nominated, team or organization.

The committee will have the challenge of selecting the “best of the best” from among the field of nominated civilian leaders or groups. The winner will be honored in front of an audience of senior military leaders and their industry peers at Sea-Air- Space 2026, at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD. The winner is expected to accept the award in person.
