Illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing is a security, economic and environmental threat with damaging effects for oceans and coastal states around the world. Working with other U.S. government agencies, like-minded foreign partners, regional fisheries management organizations and nongovernmental organizations, the U.S. Coast Guard will provide leadership to protect and promote sovereignty; support cooperative enforcement of international laws; and drive stability, legitimacy and order in the maritime domain.
